It’s not fun and definitely not pretty, but hiding among the beautiful tropical flora and fauna are pesky bugs. If you live in a tropical or humid climate, chances are you’ve struggled with a solution to get rid of cockroaches.
We live in an open home and the temperature outdoors never gets warm enough to kill these suckers, so we get roaches. It’s not that we are unclean, However, this cockroach remedy really does work. My mother-in-law has been using it for 20+ years and we too have adopted the method for a number of years as well.
How to Get Rid of Cockroaches (even in an open home)!
Step 1: Save your toilet paper and paper towel rolls for a few weeks
Step 2: Mix up your poison
Equal parts of Boric Acid and sweetened condensed milk to a toothpaste like consistency.
BTW – we looked up Boric Acid and it is only poisonous if taken internally or inhaled in large quantities. So don’t eat it.
Step 3: Cut the towel rolls in 1-2″ strips and put some of the mix inside each roll. Drop one of the rolls in places that cockroaches might live, but where your pets can’t access. Suggestions – under cabinets, back of silverware drawer, under the sink, behind boxes, behind toilets, file cabinets, the list is endless.
Repeat in Approx 6 Months: When you see a cockroach, you know it’s time to re-apply. It may not last as long on your first application, so keep a lookout for live roaches.
