Eek! I can’t believe I’m posting a photo of my 45 year old self in a bikini!
This photo comes with my now two year committment to work on my self, my health and my own wellness.
I started my #fitjourney when Ethan moved to St. Croix, and according to my Facebook reminders, that was this week two years ago. Taj and I were in Illinois and I made the decision to use the cleaning out and packing up the house for our move as an excuse to feed myself according to a plan, watch my portions and stop drinking (eek!). The availability of fresh vegetables, an expansive kitchen, and only having to feed one other person made it work. I lost weight immediately and I felt GREAT!
I made the switch from The Y to Beachbody Online because it fit my lifestyle and I loved it! At the time, it meant not having to bundle up, pack my sneakers, find parking, get to class early to get a pass, and then head home. The thrill of standing up from my desk and working out in my living room, then sitting back down to work saved me more than an hour a day easy. Two years later, I’ve worked through a plethora of programs (90 Day Obsession, PiYo, 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, and currently 100 Morning Meltdown) and pending some minor injuries or life getting in the way here or there, I work out daily. I’ve mixed in Crossfit, yoga, paddleboarding, hiking, a Spartan race (soon to be two) and lots of yard work. I can do things and lift things I never thought would be possible!
I’m not going to push Beachbody, but it works for me. I actually hate that BeachBody is an MLM because I am not a fan of multi-level marketing schemes. However, I guess I drank the Kool-aid because I do like what Beachbody has given me.
This photo reminds me that I am at peace with my body, my spirit and my surroundings. As a forty something year old mom and business owner, I’m proud to be in some of the best shape of my life. If you want to work out with me, just let me know, I always up for a workout buddy.
